This Case Combines Road Rage with Domestic or Spousal Abuse

I’ve covered several other collisions involving a different strain of road rage, I’m going to call it passenger compartment rage. In this case a Des Moines man is reported to be arrested after getting in an argument with the driver, resulting in his kicking the windshield, knocking the rear view mirror off following his grabbing the steering wheel. The car is reported to then have veered off of the I-235, crashing into a wall, then a small tree and causing some injury to the passenger inside the car. The police hauled him off to jail having been charged with domestic assault of his wife. The man is 26 and his wife 41-years of age.

I’ve got to wonder which Polk County Judge will get this criminal case and what they will think should happen to this man. Perhaps he can be sentenced to grow up. Yeah I know not likely, but we can always hope for maturity to take place. The woman should be sentenced to filing for a divorce. This guy needs a reality check. No matter how mad you get with your spouse it’s never acceptable to grab the wheel on an Interstate (especially I-235, I-80 or I-35 in Iowa or elsewhere for that matter) and cause the car to crash. You pose a danger to yourself, your spouse and people in other cars. And not just from contact, but also from startling other drivers who may lose control and crash.

My guess is that this guy isn’t going to get off easy.
