The Iowa State Patrol reported that a bicyclist was rear-ended by Hagen on Highway 105 near Dogwood Avenue in Worth County. Each was westbound on highway 105. Elderly drivers need to make sure their vision isn't deteriorating and that their senses are working well enough to safely operate a car.

I've got such a case out of Leon, Iowa where my client was backed into as she walked across the parking lot. The driver of the truck, an elderly man, didn't seem to know he'd hit her. He got out of his truck, and was heading back into the community center to retrieve his coffee cup, when the injured woman yelled at him that he'd stuck her. There is no age limit to having a driver's license. But common sense should tell us there is a point in life when at a certain age we are probably no longer safe drivers. Human capital wears out. To do otherwise is not excusable and to run into someone in plane sight is negligent.
