Dentists and orthopedic surgeons need to maintain the equipment they use or it can lead to patient's getting severely burned.

Defective products can be very dangerous if not properly maintained. We all hate reading instruction or user manuals but as business owners we have a duty to our customers, clients and patients to protect them. The FDA is warning dentists that poorly maintained electrical dental hand pieces used during dental procedures have caused third degree burns requiring plastic surgery to repair. The patients who are usually anesthetized don't feel the pain as the burn takes place, realizing only after it has occurred. So don't expect them to warn you.

This same problem is occurring during orthopedic procedures. Those warnings came out in 2003.

Dentists and orthopedic surgeons need to maintain the equipment they use or it can lead to patient's getting severely burned during procedures when they are least likely to be able to protect themselves.

Know your rights, protect yourself and guard against those will deform them when you don't suspect you need them.
