Vail Enclosed Bed System, a suffocation hazard.

This is one of those warnings that people will think "frivolous" right up until the day their spouse or child is discovered dead in bed. The FDA's final warning on the Vail Enclosed Bed System were issued and warns that the bed poses a health risk in that it can trap the user and suffocate them. People are using these beds at home. So be aware this is not just in hospitals or nursing homes.

According to the FDA, the bed systems represent a public health risk because their use may result in patient entrapment and asphyxiation, leading to severe neurologic damage or death. The FDA has received reports of approximately 30 such entrapments, at least seven of which have resulted in death. In addition to the bed systems, the U.S. Marshal's office has also seized related welded in-process components, labeling, and promotional materials.
