Lately, America’s largest imported product seems to be communism

As an American, if you don't believe in some form of regulating imported products then you're a communist. If as an American you don't think the people of China need freedom of speech then you are a communist.

The melamine contaminated baby milk from China is into its next phase. Lawsuits were filed in the Supreme People’s Court Of the People's Republic of China (An oxymoron I'd say.) in Beijing for the 213 children, including 4 that died, to obtain monetary compensation from Sanlu. There is just one hitch, the Supreme People’s Court has already rejected several similar lawsuits and has the power to accept or reject class action lawsuits. Since this is a politically sensitive subject, (Oops you mean Communist Party Officials may have been involved with corruption?) it’s not likely the CCP is going to allow a public airing of official corruption. So expect this lawsuit or lawsuits to be dismissed like all the other ones. The lawyers are hoping this one, when dismissed, at least garners an explanation of why they are being dismissed. Don't hold your breath waiting for that written decision.

When the news doesn’t fit into the CCP’s idea of what they want the Chinese people to believe the CCP simply lies or as you will see uses outright intimidation and files criminal charges for having possession of state secrets, fraud or espionage. It’s not unusual for the CCP news to conflict with reality. It appears that the truth or facts that expose the truth are state secrets.

By now you should know that the chemical melamine found in infant formula is used to make tires or tables or dishes. But as we now know it was being used to do an end run on protein testing of milk watered down to increase profits. The CCP is up to it's eyeballs into covering up the official corruption involving the who concerning melamine contamination in milk.

Lying by the CCP isn’t new. Recent lies have included the sovereignty of Tibet and the treatment of Tibetan monks. Tibetan monks in March 2008 provided evidence of recent attempts by the Chinese Communist Party officials to impersonate Tibetan monks in Lhasa for the purpose of distorting the news the outside world would hear about Tibet. Risking their safety and lives real Tibetan monks stormed the phony news conference and told the truth about lacking freedom of speech and the truth about the Tibetan people’s treatment at the hands of the CCP. The Chinese government quickly took the monks away. See it for yourself in this March 31, 2008 YouTube video clip.

Globalization requires honesty by governments of country’s that manufacture products for export. Otherwise those countries that are importing their products live according to the export country’s standard of government. If the United States, as an importer of defective Chinese goods doesn’t regulate safety, then we allow the Communist government and the Chinese Constitution to be substituted for the United States Constitution. In other words, the lack of the freedom of speech in China is what we import along with melamine laced food products.

America elects government officials, and its citizens have the right to criticize those citizens when corruption occurs. But that’s not the case in China. In China if you criticize government officials you end up in prison.

When our own government turns a blind eye to regulating Chinese imports our elected officials capitulate to the Communist Constitution and the Communist form of government. We are a democracy not a communist form of government.

If you want to see Chinese police intimidate common citizens look at this video. Watch at 1:18 minutes into the interview. It’s striking how the police move in to check “papers” and take the witness away for more of the same.

The CCP even jails news reporters who tell the truth.

Like it or not we are living according to a standard that is determined by what U.S. elected officials and Chinese Communist Party Officials do or don’t do with regulating Chinese exports being imported to the United States. The problem is too big for the CCP to guarantee export product safety. As an example companies caught in the melamine scandal simply closed shop and disappeared from the landscape. How do you regulate a here-today-gone-tomorrow industry? Believe it or not the lack of freedom of speech in China affects our safety. If we don’t care about freedom of speech in China for the sake of its people we should care about it from the standpoint of imported product safety. The best regulatory reform we can enact is exporting freedom of speech for the Chinese people. By the CCP allowing the dissidents to speak out about official corruption they will convince America they are serious about export safety.

How do we effectively protect ourselves and regulate imports from China? Let freedom of speech ring out across China.

Tibet has always been a nation distinct from China. Many years ago the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo even invaded China and it's capital - Xi'an. So, the Chinese emperor gave one of his daughters (Wen Ch'eng) to the Tibetan king.
So, the first comment is an example of evil Chinese CCP and government propaganda - just slogans and lies, no facts.

We need some healthy anti-Chinese attitude. I agree with the article! We can't let communists rule the world, as the damage they bring with their reign in wide spread, as tortures, forced abortions, lack of freedom of speech...This is just the very beginning of very long list

Well, well Mr. AntiChinaBashing, why can't you use your real name? Of course I know what I'm talking about. The CCP imprisons those who speak the truth that in any way exposes corruption with government offiicals. Why haven't any government officials been charged with corruption in the melamine scandal? Why haven't the courts allowed any lawsuits for compensation been allowed to proceed? Why are dissidents in jail? Who are you and why are you fearful to use your real name?

I thought it prudent to respond again to the anti-Chinese slant to the first comment. My posts are not anti-Chinese, far from it. If you reread all of my posts you'll have to agree they are very much Pro-Chinese. But they are Pro-Chinese in the sense that the common people of China, not the corrupt government that suppresses human rights, including freedom of speech should be allowed to participate in how they are being governed. I am pro-Chinese in the sense that freedom of speech by citizens will result in safer consumer products that are being exported to this country. Am I anti-Chinese? No, far from it. Am I anti-Chinese government that creates human rights policy that suppresses free speech? Absolutely and categorically I am guilty as charged. Find me guilty of criticism that restricts the people of China from complaining about government corruption that allowed the melamine scandal to escalate and that crippled so many Chinese babies. If you want to identify those who are anti-Chinese simply direct your attention and criticism to the CCP and corrupt government officials who looked the other way or who took bribes allowing Sanyu to add melamine to baby’s milk, not me.

All that talk about Chinese this and Chinese that made me get a hunger for some tasty duck noodle hot & sour soup. Then I started recalling the articles on food safety, melamine, lax screening of foreign produce and I started to worry. Thanks for opening eyes to the breakdown in safety of our food supply. One thing is abundantly clear, the rule of law is week in China and until they institute a transparant system of accountability and a court system that is open to consumer complainst like we have in the U.S., China will suffer from rejection of their products on the world market. Good article. Great videos.
