Stephen D. Lombardi has practiced civil trial litigation for over 25 years. He is admitted in all state and federal courts in Iowa. Mr. Lombardi is active in the various trial lawyer organizations and regularly speaks on various subjects having to do with civil trial work and the skills needed to be successful.
Although his focus is personal injury, he does accept a limited number of divorce cases for professionals and business owners with sizeable wealth. He does not focus on either the husband or the wife as clients, but is adept at cases involving parent alienation syndrome. A sizable retainer is required in divorce cases. All personal injury cases are taken on a contingent fee basis.
He was born and raised in New England and in 1975 moved to the Midwest to obtain his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa. In 1981 he graduated from Drake University Law School. During law school he worked as a private investigator in a five state region of the Midwest and has testified in court.
For relaxation he is an active mountaineer and has climbed in Africa (Kilimanjaro), the French Alps (Mt. Blanc de Tacul), the Swiss Alps (the Matterhorn range) and traveled to Nepal where he hiked to the Mt. Everest Base Camp. In July 2007 he is traveling to Russia to climb Mt. Elbrus.
Mr. Lombardi is a person driven to complete what he starts. He prides himself on telling his clients what they need to hear not what they want to hear. He doesn't believe in awards, he believes in achievement. He doesn't concern himself with recognition of his accomplishments but focuses on winning the task at hand. He is a lawyer that hates to lose. His style is to begin to size up and prepare his clients from the first conversation through the trial. All people that become his clients are important to him.
