THINK LIKE US OR DON'T THINK AT ALL
You’re going to ask it so I’ll tell you now. Yes this is for real; the thought police are running an American institution and a law school at that! Liberty University is trying to do an about face after taking away the University endorsement of the student’s Democrat Club. That happened several days ago. Just yesterday it seems they were shamed into reconsideration. The question remains to be answered whether the thought police running Liberty are placing it in jeopardy of having their tax exempt status revoked. The students involved with the Democratic club were told they could be a private organization, sort of like club soccer, but would no longer be endorsed by the University. From all appearances it has to do with speakers the students wanted to invite to campus. The Universities actions raise many questions.
Q: Is this about money and how it is used and for what political issues?
A: No Steve, it's about floccinaucinihilipilification and antidisestablishmentarianism! Let's ask Hot-for-Words what that means. (Now if Hotforwords isn't working see other choices at the end of this video.)
Q: Can I nominate her (Marina Orlova) for the deanship at Liberty University?
A: Probably not, because Hot-for-Words is a woman. Remember this is Liberty University.
Q: She seems equally qualified as Falwell. Don't you think?
A: I’m sure she is, but that’s not the issue, this is about thought control; the idea patrol. It’s all about Democrats being guilty of floccinaucinihilipilification.
Q: But what's floccinaucinihilipilification? Can we say that in church?
A: Back to the new dean of Liberty University for an explanation. ... And yes you can say that in church, but only if you're praying for the souls of Democrats.
Here is news having to do with Liberty University’s attempt at thought control over pro-life and traditional marriage issues they want the Democrats to just go away. The ruling from the Administration was, that Democrats are simply floccinaucinihilipilification. (Worthless) The old style Republicans could care less about these values so long as it's not costing them more money, but the Religious fanatics that have hijacked the Republican Party want absolute thought control.
Q: Should iit be floccinaucinihilipilificated?
A: I'm not sure. Is that a word?
IT'S THE NEW AMERICA, THE NEW COMMUNIST AMERICA
After all you can’t be a Christian and be a Democrat. You can't be saved if you're gay and if you support pro-choice candidates you're going straight to hell, do not pass go don't even think about collecting $200.00! Original ideas are the same as original sin.
So what did Liberty University say to the Democratic Party Club?
The Washington Post reported:
From: Hine, Mark (VP Student Affairs)

Subject: LU College Democrats
I must inform you that the College democrats' club is no longer going to be recognized as a Liberty University club. We are unable to lend support to a club whose parent organization stands against the moral principles held by Liberty University. I expressed these concerns when we met, earlier in the spring semester.
The Liberty Way states, "It is the duty of every student to respect Liberty's Statement of Doctrine and Purpose. They may not engage in any activity on or off campus that would compromise the testimony or reputation of the University or cause disruption to Liberty's Christian learning environment."
The real lawyers have to wonder if this action isn't a violation of the IRS non-profit regulations concerning engaging in political campaigns for or against candidates. It could be; here read this commentary. Here is what the Baptist Joint Committee reported.
“Liberty University Bans Democratic Party Club
Liberty University is a tax-exempt religious school, prohibited by IRS non-profit regulations from engaging in political campaigns for or against candidates. But Jerry Falwell's institution has caused a storm by banning the student Democrats organization from campus, citing the platform of its "parent organization", the Democratic National Committee. My emphasis:
“It kind of happened out of nowhere,” said Brian Diaz, president of LU’s student Democratic Party organization, which LU formally recognized in October.
Diaz said he was notified of the school’s decision May 15 in an e-mail from Mark Hine, vice president of student affairs.
...
Hine said late Thursday that the university could not sanction an official club that supported Democratic candidates.
You can read the text of the letter revoking the group here.”
This goes beyond even my own low expectations of Liberty University officials. There is nothing wrong with a college education that includes religious instruction and perspective. I attended a strong Baptist college myself. But enforcing a fundamentalist outlook that says those religious viewpoints require very particular political and public policy beliefs is pretty troubling. Doing it with a tax exemption in tow is just... well, insulting I guess.
Why is this not a violation of the IRS' prohibition on political campaigning by tax-exempt organizations? While the revocation of the Democratic Party club may not be the endorsement for or against a particular candidate in a specific election, it seems to me like it comes pretty close, essentially making an official statement against a candidate in every upcoming election.
What is the next step? Expulsion of any student who votes in a Democratic primary?
Note: 2 years ago, by the way, Americans United filed a complaint with the IRS over Liberty chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr.'s endorsement of Mike Huckabee for President on official University stationary. Not sure what became of that complaint.
What the thought-police ought to do is investigate Liberty University’s tax exempt status and whether it should be revoked. The ABA should consider whether Liberty University School of Law and its fifth tier law school status should be unaccredited.
How about if the Liberty faculty start with reading the U.S. Constitution and write on the blackboard 100 times the First Amendment. Many law schools do teach Con Law I and II. Does Liberty or did they rewrite the U.S. Constitution?
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Real lawyers have to wonder who and what they are teaching these fifth-tiered law students. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Q: What lawyers gave Liberty this advice?
A: They must be graduates of Liberty. That can be the only explanation. They must be the same ones that redefined torture for the Bush Administration.
Stop wasting tax payer dollars on this nonsense. Let Liberty pay taxes like all the rest of us.
Q: Is Liberty an extension of Kaplan University? Can anyone tell me if Kaplan and Liberty use the same library?
A: They don't have a library, because the thought-police burned all the books. Now it's clear. Cough-cough! Wow that smoke is thick.
Q: See if they still have Lord of the Flies in the ashes somewhere.
INSTITUTIONALIZING HYPOCRACY- LISTEN TO THIS CHRISTIAN "EXPOSE" ADVOCATING AGAINST USING THOUGHTS AS THE BASIS FOR HATE CRIMES –
HYPOCRITS: ON THE ONE HAND THEY ADVOCATE FOR FREEDOM OF THOUGHT, BUT WHEN IT MIGHT COST THEM A FEW DONOR DOLLARS THEY WANT TO DECIDE WHAT STUDENTS CAN THINK, BELILEVE AND LISTEN TO. WE ARE ALL PAYING FOR THIS NONSENSE THROUGH LIBERTY’S TAX EXEMPT STATUS. IT SHOULD BE REVOKED.
I’d better stop before I’m accused of being sesquipedalian.
