Iowa Motorcyclist - What made him go over the center line?

An accident in Davenport left a motorcyclist in critical condition. It was reported by the Des Moines Register that,

Jan Deverwaere was in critical condition Sunday, said a spokeswoman for Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.

Police said Deverwaere was driving a motorcycle westbound on West Sixth Street about 5:30 p.m. and turned right onto North Division Street.

The motorcycle apparently crossed the center line and struck the side of a cargo truck driven by Michael Smith, 43, of Monticello, that was southbound on Division Street.

Someone should investigate to determine what made Deverwaere cross the center line? How big was the bike? How strong was the operator? It doesn't seem likely that they would just drive across the center line. Was it just driver error or was some other vehicle involved? Like another vehicle getting too close causing to the motorcycle driver to veer away from an impending collision? The witnesses need to be interviewed.
