Nothing makes tort reformers angrier then when tort reform measures are used against their claim. You see they like tort reform, so long as it applies to you. In their own minds they are special and different from you and me. They unlike us are more worthy of pain and suffering damages.

NEW YORK - One-time U.S. Supreme Court nominee Robert H. Bork settled a $1 million lawsuit Friday against the Yale Club after he fell stepping onto a platform to speak.

His lawyer, Randy Mastro, said terms of the deal were confidential and he had no comment.

Do you recall that Robert H. Bork claimed the Yale Club was at fault for not warning him about the steps to the podium didn’t have a handrail? That might be a little obvious to Mr. Bork as he approached the steps, wouldn’t it? And why didn’t he just turn around and ask for help? Or better yet just not climb the steps and give the speech from the floor where he stood? I see my friend Mike Phelan in Richmond rather enjoyed this same tale of woe about Mr. Bork getting porked. I wonder why he and his lawyer had no comment.
