Motorcycles are difficult enough for drivers to see, but add bulky farm machinery to the already busy roads and we have to wonder if that is a reason for seeing more motorcycle accidents. Also the field cover is being cleared so and that may increase deer movement across highways. Is the fall a time when motorcyclists need to be even more cautious? Deer are more active at dawn and dusk, so during those times in the fall drivers should be extremely cautious and avoid riding if at all possible.

The Sioux City Journal along with the Le Mars Sentinel reported a motorcycle accident occurring on October 4, 2007.

Nicaise Dallas Dexter, 21, of Le Mars was traveling north on First Avenue SW when his motorcycle collided with an eastbound truck driven by 50-year-old Dennis Bollin. Bollin was likely familiar with this area as he too was from Le Mars. Le Mars PD report that Bolin was eastbound in Prospect Street SW and had entered the intersection when the accident occurred.
