China has shut 2,000 unlicensed factories in the 19 days since it began a campaign against unsafe food and products, the country's top quality regulator said.

Inspectors also revoked the licenses of 1,202 drug and medical instrument companies, Li Changjiang, head of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, said in a statement. More than 300 toymakers had their export licenses suspended, he said.

For my liking that is 1,999 factories and 1,202 drug and medical instrument companies too many. But for the Bush Administration it's a huge question mark. How can this administration just stand by and tell us it's all part of the manufacturing game of a free economy. It may be free to those generating a profit from the $344 billion in consumer goods but to my injured clients it's a life time of misery.

What were you people thinking of when you voted him in a first and then a second term? Do you want to know what you get when you do away with regulatory agencies, enforcement of building standards, the fear of being sued and the right to fair compensation for the injured? What you get is a Communist country like Russia and China; that's what you get. If you doubt it or don't appreciate what I'm saying, then I suggest you visit either of those countries and you'll see what obviously has made our country great. If you're not worried about ever being sued for the shoddy products you make then why care about manufacturing standards? If you won't ever get sued for people drowning when the bridge they commute to work on collapses, then why make sure the structure is forever sound? Give it some thought the next time you venture into the voting booth. Because your very life may depend upon the paint on the mouth piece of that cell phone you're using, that package of food you're going to eat for lunch and that bridge you're driving over to get to work.
