Here is a bridge being erected that kills a worker when a 121-ton girder falls. The report I found doesn’t indicate whether the girder fell onto a worker or whether if he was riding it he plunged to his death. Girders are not supposed to be ridden.

And then there is the Caroni Bridge being dismantled after it collapsed killing one worker. In this incident one worker was killed and four others injured.

On August 2, Ramnath Bissoo was killed and four others injured when a Bailey Bridge spanning the Caroni River collapsed while being dismantled by a crew from the Works Ministry.

JCC Calls for Caroni Bridge Report, Julien

People like to say, it’s just and unfortunate accident, but really they are all preventable. If only the contractor and workers would follow the correct safety procedures.

Cost cutting by big construction corportaions places workers at risk. Construction site injuries shouldn't happen but they do all too frequently. Good article.
